Get in the mood to celebrate by joining us for a pre-launch dip into radical, local history. We'll journey from Alexandra Park to The Pankhurst Centre on Nelson Street, and back to 'Tea Hive' Pavilion, on a heritage cycle tour with Ursula Harries and Glynis Francis. As part of the Woman on Wheels campaign, this tour celebrates ‘Bicycles: the chains that set women free’. Funded by Transport for Greater Manchester.

Wonder Warrior: Official Launch Party

Music will be provided by Manchester's secret superstar DJ Andrea Trout (of Manchester International Festival acclaim). Expect deep house, disco, soul and funk!
8-9pm
Following a series of pop-up performances from 8-11 March, Pankhurst in the Park 2016 will officially launch with "The Lasso of Truth", a commissioned performance by New York art collective Legacy Fatale - on international residency with Alexandra Arts. Representing an awakening from oppression to liberation, the compositional choreography will include local dancers and involve the public at large. A contemporary take on a Victorian fashion-Era alluding of the Suffragettes and the collective's trademark Amazon Warriors.
