Pure Elegance

Biography

Pure Elegance was founded by the Phillip family in 2001. Based in Huddersfield, they are a not for profit community organization specializing in creative arts, design and dance for young people. Since 2001 they have come on leaps and bounds to gain some amazing achievements – one being the winner of 'best costume' at Manchester Caribbean Carnival 2015, in Alexandra Park, Moss Side.

Alexandra Arts was thrilled to bring Pure Elegance back to Alexandra Park for Pankhurst in the Park 2016 event; Lil' Fee and Veba's Caribbean-infused High Tea. Where they hosted and performed during our after-hours, speak-easy style 'High Tea'.

Paige Phillip, Designer and choreographer of Pure Elegance Carnival says-

“We are proud to celebrate our Caribbean culture; wearing extravagant costumes designed and made by the very people you see parade with vibrant rhythm and confidence on carnival day. We are Pure Elegance Carnival. Always Aiming to Achieve. Everybody is welcome to join!”
